A relieving letter is a document given by the employer to an employee confirming that they have officially completed their notice period and left the company. The relieving letter usually includes the employee's last working day and confirms there are no pending dues or obligations. This document is often required by new employers as proof that the employee has properly exited their previous job. Without a relieving letter, employees may face delays in joining or completing formalities at their next company.

Definitions are general guidance. Your organisation's policies and applicable local requirements determine how a term is used in practice.
