Background Verification, commonly called BGV, is the process of checking a candidate's past employment, education, and personal details before confirming their job offer. Background verification usually includes checking previous employer references, educational certificates, address proof, and sometimes criminal records. Companies conduct background verification to ensure the information given by the candidate is accurate and trustworthy. Many companies now outsource background verification to third-party agencies to speed up the process.
