Payslip (Salary Slip)
In simple words: A payslip is a monthly document that shows how an employee’s salary was worked out. It lists what was earned, what was deducted and what finally reached the bank account.
Example: A payslip might show basic and HRA as earnings, PF and professional tax as deductions, and the net pay at the bottom.
Why it matters: Employees need payslips for loans, rent agreements and visas, and they’re a handy way to spot mistakes early. Good payslips are clear enough that an employee can read one without asking HR.
