Moonlighting

Moonlighting means an employee doing a second job or freelance work outside their main job, often without informing the primary employer. Moonlighting became a widely discussed topic in India after remote work increased during the pandemic, especially in the IT sector. Employers usually worry that moonlighting can affect data safety, focus, and create a conflict of interest, while employees feel it's their right since it uses their own free time. Many companies have since updated their employment policies to clearly address moonlighting.
